San Fran Edwardian

Hero

From a distinctive setting to carefully chosen pieces, our homes say a lot about who we are. The Welcome Home series is our chance to ask inspiring people how they created a space they love.

At three o’clock in the afternoon, light spills across the front rooms of Meredith Peck’s Edwardian home in San Francisco, catching on ornate moldings and worn wood floors. A creative director and co-founder of oo-mi, a skincare brand for tweens, Meredith shares the house with her husband Andy, their daughter Madi, and their dog Lucy. “You can feel the soul of the house in those little moments.”

Inside, the interiors speak for themselves. Vintage pieces sit alongside newer ones, selected for comfort, longevity, and everyday use. The design feels instinctive, shaped over time by family life and creative work.

Tell us about oo-mi.

My business partner and I are both moms, creatives, and beauty-obsessed. Our kids started asking about skincare and makeup, and we realized there wasn’t much out there that felt right for young skin. So we decided to create it ourselves, with our children in mind. oo-mi was born out of that mix of curiosity, care, and creativity.

What has starting a business taught you about yourself?

Starting oo-mi has been a crash course in patience. It’s taught me to trust the process, to stay grounded in what feels authentic, and to lean on intuition.

How do you juggle the work-life balance?

I’ve learned to truly clock out. I used to fall asleep with my laptop on my lap, and that’s just not sustainable. Now, when the day ends, I close the computer and shift into home mode. Boundaries have been such a sanity-saver.

What helps you feel relaxed at home?

Music is a constant in our house; it instantly shifts the energy and makes everything feel warm and easy.

How would you describe your home in 3 words?

Collected, eclectic, old-meets-new.

What’s your favourite thing about your home?

The charm and character. I’m obsessed with all the original details: the wedding cake ceiling, the moldings, the quirks, the craftsmanship.

What’s your favourite piece of furniture in your home?

The Sundays cabinet in our bedroom. It’s such a beautiful, functional piece. It’s perfect for storage (which we never have enough of!) and still so thoughtfully designed.

What do you look for in your furniture?

Comfort, durability, and a sense of personality. Something that feels unique but not overthought.

What do you like about Sundays pieces?

I love how they play against the architecture of our home. They feel fresh without clashing with the old bones of the space. It’s design that doesn’t shout, but still makes you stop and notice. They're pieces I'll hold onto for a long time.
